Loupe is made by two people, Junwei and Kylie. This page says what we hold about you, what leaves your device, and why. If anything here is unclear, write to hello@loupeeditor.com and one of us will answer.

Your photographs

The photograph you open stays in your browser. The full-resolution file is never uploaded to us. What we store about it is its filename, its dimensions, a fingerprint of its bytes so we can reattach your edits when you open the same file again, and the edit itself: the slider values, crop, curve and masks. No pixels.

When you ask the assistant for an edit, it has to be able to look at the picture. Your browser renders a small preview of the current state, at most 512 pixels on the long edge, and sends it with your request to the AI model. The same happens for a reference photo if you attach one. The preview is used to answer that request and is not stored by us. The transcript we keep has the pictures stripped out of it.

The models are run by third-party providers, whose own policies govern the request. Nothing about you, not your name, email or account, is sent with it.

Your account

You sign in with Google. We hold your email address, name and profile picture as Google provides them. Your edits and your conversations with the assistant are stored so that a photograph's history opens where you left it, and we count the AI edits you make each month to apply the plan limits.

Payments

Subscriptions are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe and never pass through us. We keep only which plan you are on and when it renews.

How we learn what to fix

We see which pages and features get used, and we record sessions to find where people get stuck. In those recordings every image and canvas is blocked and every text field is masked, so what we see is where you clicked and scrolled, never your photographs or what you typed. A session cookie keeps you signed in and one analytics cookie tells one visit from the next. There is no advertising.

Email

One welcome note after you first open the editor, and now and then an update about Loupe. Reply to any of them and it reaches us. Ask to be left alone and we will.

Deleting everything

Email us from the address on your account and we will delete the account, its edits, conversations and billing record. Your photographs need nothing from us, since we never had them. Loupe is not directed at children under 13, and if what we collect changes, so will this page and the date at the top.
